Region VIII

NYSEC is an organization dedicated to keeping New York State English Language Arts educators from pre-K through college in public and private schools informed, enthusiastic and unified. This affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) sponsors an annual conference in late October featuring nationally recognized speakers and authors.

Anyone teaching English in New York State these days may sometimes feel overwhelmed by the new assessments, the new standards, the "new" students.  NYSEC exists to offer you support, in the form of advice, ideas, and inspiration, from others who may be there, doing that, and know exactly how you feel.
